A local resident has started a petition to improve the safety of a road junction in Sholing. Around one hundred and fifty people have signed the petition so far, but campaigner David Poore is hoping he’ll get at least twice that number of signatures by the end of the year. Arielle Bruins went to the junction to find out more.
The latest figures released by Southampton City Council show that over a hundred thousand pounds was spent on keeping litter under control in Southampton’s central parks over the last year.
The parks that were established over a hundred and seventy years ago have also now been recognised as a special Historic Interest.
This year Southampton welcomes over 40 traders from all over the world to set up stalls at the Christmas market. The market’s a new tradition – it began in 2004. But now 75% of businesses in the city say they benefit from the shoppers it attracts. Our reporter Arielle Bruins went to see what’s on offer.
