A local resident has started a petition to improve the safety of a road junction in Sholing. Around one hundred and fifty people have signed the petition so far, but campaigner David Poore is hoping he’ll get at least twice that number of signatures by the end of the year. The latest figures released by Southampton City Council show that over a hundred thousand pounds was spent on keeping litter under control in Southampton’s central parks over the last year.
The parks that were established over a hundred and seventy years ago have also now been recognised as a special Historic Interest.
